On the last day of our trip we headed into town with 3 of our new friends and did a bit of shopping. Fun things that we found . . . cranberry sauce, tarter sauce, spinach fettuccine alfredo noodles, gluten free pasta (for Kat), A1 sauce (for a friend), and many other things that I was tempted to buy but didn’t.
After leaving the mall and walking for a bit Kat and I decided that it was too hot to sit by the ocean and wait for the sunset so we suggested that we go to McDonald’s for ice cream.
As it turned out this was the girls first time to go to McDonald’s. I guess it hasn’t been there very long and they had never been to a McDonald’s anywhere else, so it was fun to treat them for their first time. Also just a side note about McDonald’s here . . . on their menu they have fried chicken with rice. If you look around almost everyone is eating the chicken and rice . . . I feel very white and abnormal when I order a burger and fries. =)
After finishing our ice cream in the comfort of AC we ventured down to the ocean side to catch the sunset and it was indeed beautiful. Pictures can never capture the true beauty of a sunset, but we sure did try.

After the sunset we realized that for 4 out of 5 of us the first letter of our first name was in the word McDonald’s so we decided to take a picture with the sign.
Unfortunately there is no K so Kat didn’t get to be in the picture but rather had to be the photographer.
It was a WONDERFUL trip I felt so loved and accepted by all the new people that I met and it was great to share life with some different people for a week. Super thankful that we got to take this trip, experience a different part of this amazing beautiful country and make some new friends.
