I had another first 12 days ago . . . my first birthday in Asia Pacific! Many of my friends, from here and Westerners helped to make my 25th birthday a special one.
When I woke up I came out to find our table decorated like this with a warm coffee cake sitting on the table . . . sneaky Kathryn.
Then I came home from school to a DELICIOUS lunch prepared by our house helper. Kathryn had gotten in touch with my mom and asked her what we usually do for birthday’s in our family. My mom told her that usually she makes us our favorite meal, which for me is liver. Yes that is right my favorite meal is liver, mashed potatoes and gravy. YUMMY!!! My mom remembered that when we visited Indonesia the other summer I had eaten liver kebobs and loved them so Kat asked our house helper to make Sate Hati. (Liver kebobs with peanut sauce.)
Our house helper who stepped in to take the place of my mom in making me liver for my birthday. =)
Then for supper a couple of our friends came over with steaks to grill.
The steaks tasted sooooooooooooo good!! A Kansas girl loves her steak!
All in all it was a wonderful birthday made wonderful by the kindness of so many people on this side of the world and back in the states as well.
P.S. – Kat thanks for the jar of PICKLES!!!! =D
