On the weekend I went on yet another outing with yet another group of friends. We traveled to a little park about 1.5 hrs away from where we lived and had a delightful little picnic and a time of hanging out before I left. The group consisted of some of my closest neighbors, my house helper and her aunts as well as my gardener and his family.

Pak L and his family . . . Pak L is our gardener and has been a great friend as well fixing things that are broken, telling legends about culture and the past as well as keeping our plants and flowers looking nice, our tiles on our roof fixed and our gutter cleaned out.
My house helper Ibu L and her daughter . . . I love this lady and have learned so much from her regarding how to live a life of relevance and joy no matter what. Her daughter is a sweetheart and I think that one day she is going to be used in a great way . . .she already is being used in a great way. So thankful for this family and the lives that they have chosen to live!!!
2 of my house helper’s aunts who have become dear friends of mine over the last 2 years here. There is never a dull moment around when Ibu M and Ibu Y are around. =)
I’ve enjoyed being about to reach out to Ibu S and her kids. Both of the kids come over and hang out in our yard with their friends, because of this Kat and I have been able to build a relationship with their mom. So thankful for the ways that doors open.
Ibu E (pink) and her daughter Ibu S (black) have been great neighbors and always inviting me to go and do things with them. Thankful for the opportunities that I have had to learn through them.

My mom and dad here . . . Ibu Y and her husband Pak A are some of my closets and dearest neighbors, friends and family. I don’t know what I would have done without them. Ibu Y was instrumental in helping me learn language and culture in those early days and has become my mom, sister, and friend . . . depends on the day. =) They both has been a huge help in helping fix things, finding people to help us, looking out for us, watching our house when we are gone and a ton of other things. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family to claim as my own here!!
Many of these kids can be found playing in our play house and on our swings after they get home from school. I love knowing that they are hanging out at our house and aren’t other places getting in trouble.
Haha, and this is just the awkward picture of me and all the guys . . . including the driver of one of the cars that we rented . . . I don’t even know him!

At the park that we went to they had a real out of service airplane that you could pay 50 cents to go see inside. While the kids were swimming I convinced some of the adults to go see inside a real airplane. It was fun for them to see a small version of what I ride when I am going from the States to here and back.
All in all it was another fun day with friends and another great last outing with some of my dear neighbors and friends.
