Airplanes, buses, boats, trucks, cars, vans, motorbikes, horse carts, bicycle carts, bicycles or walking. Depending on what I am doing or where I am going there is a mode of transportation that will take me there.
If I'm riding with one of my friends it will usually be on a motorbike.
If I'm going into town it is the public transportation bus or angkot. This is a has been a great way to practice language and experience culture!
If I've gotten a lot of things in town and don't want to walk back to get the angkot, I can take a becak.
And believe me you really can fit a lot of stuff into one! This is Kathryn and I on our way back from town, I had 2 big bags, plus a little shelf thing hanging off one, along with Kathryn's 2 big bags, and a wrapped bunch of flowers.
Another option would be a docar. The cart isn't super big, but you can fit in several people, you just don't have much room for your knees and legs.
